BBQ Makes Everything Better was selected as the USA winner in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards "Best Barbecue Book" category! This cookbook continues on to compete against winning BBQ cookbooks from other countries for "Best in the World." The results will be announced on March 3, 2011 in Paris.

Co-authors Jason Day and Aaron Chronister are extremely honored to be selected for this prestigious award. The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards , founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau, highlights the leading food and wine books yearly. Helping readers and retailers find the best books out of the tens of thousands released every year is one of their major objectives. With 145 countries represented, this truly international competition is honoring candidates in 53 cookbook and drink categories culminating at the Paris Cookbook Fair where the "Best in the World" winners will be announced.

IN KANSAS CITY, BARBECUE is considered a fine art. Now, courtesy of beloved Kansas City painter Mike Savage, fine art is also barbecue. No, you can’t eat it, but it is a feast for the eyes. Savage has created a painting of Oklahoma Joe’s joint at 47th & Mission in KCK that perfectly captures the colorful character and spirit of the place. Special gallery-quality prints of Mikes’ painting — “Joe’s BBQ, KCK” — are now on sale at the Kansas City Barbeque Store. The size of the image is 10.6-inches high by 16-inches wide. The overall size of the print is 13.6-inches high by 19-inches wide, which includes a three-inch wide white border around the image. These are not limited edition prints and will not be numbered, however, Mike has signed each print on the white border beneath the image.
