Master the Flame with the Brasero Firebox Kit – Built for Real Live-Fire Cooking
Designed and handcrafted in the Yoder Smokers factory, the Brasero Firebox Kit is the heart of live-fire grilling—engineered exclusively for the El Dorado Santa Maria-style grill. In traditional Argentinian and Santa Maria-style cooking, a brasero serves a crucial purpose: it allows you to burn raw wood or lump charcoal off to the side, generating a steady, controlled supply of glowing embers. Those hot coals are then pushed beneath the cooking grate as needed, letting you precisely manage temperature, timing, and flavor throughout your cook. This indirect fueling method ensures consistent heat while preventing flare-ups, making it ideal for everything from low-and-slow roasts to fast, high-heat sears.
Built from heavy-gauge 7-gauge American steel with a reinforced bottom plate, the Brasero is made to withstand the extreme temperatures of both split wood and charcoal without warping or wearing down. This isn't heat from a knob—this is real fire you build. Coals you shape. A ritual you own.
With a rigid, high-heat-resistant steel frame and a zero-effort setup, using the Brasero is as simple as placing the basket in your firebox and feeding the flame. Its broad, flat top surface is notched to hold eight stainless steel skewers on demand—perfect for fire-seared kabobs or primal skewer play. Whether you’re cooking low and slow, swinging a Dutch oven overhead, or running cast iron all day long, the Brasero keeps the heat coming with constant coal production for extended grilling sessions.
Complete with a high-durability stainless companion grate and drip tray, the Brasero Firebox Kit is more than a tool—it's your live-fire engine. Built to fuel the flavor and withstand the test of time, it’s the essential upgrade for any serious Santa Maria-style or Argentinian grill enthusiast.

How do I pick the right rub for what I'm cooking?
How do I pick the right rub for what I'm cooking?
Start with the protein. Beef loves coarse, pepper-forward rubs. Pork and chicken take well to sweeter, sugar-based blends. Fish and veggies want something lighter. Every product page tells you what the rub was built for, and if you're stuck between two, ask us. We cook with this stuff every weekend.
How long do rubs and sauces stay good?
How long do rubs and sauces stay good?
Unopened, most rubs hold peak flavor for about a year and sauces until the date on the bottle. Once opened, keep rubs sealed away from heat and humidity (not on the shelf above the grill) and refrigerate sauces after opening. If it still smells strong, it still cooks strong.
What if a flavor isn't what I expected?
What if a flavor isn't what I expected?
Give it a second shot before you shelve it. Rubs behave differently depending on the protein, the heat, and how heavy you go. A blend that's just okay on chicken is often unbelievable on pork ribs, and most sauces open up when they're brushed on during the last few minutes instead of after. If you tell us what you cooked and how, we'll tell you how to get the most out of the bottle you've got.
